Ward-based pharmacy   Many people equate ward-based pharmacy with ‘clinical’ pharmacy, but we think that these are two very different things.  we demonstrated our belief that all pharmacists, no matter where they are working, should regard themselves as ‘clinical’ pharmacists. Good Health, Inc. is conducting a voluntary recall after an FDA lab analyses found that the product tested from certain batches of Vialipro contain Sulfoaildenafil, an analogue of Sildenafil, an FDA-approved drug used as treatment for male Erectile Dysfunction (ED) making this product an unapproved drug. 

FDA Alert : Slim- 30 Herb Supplement: Undeclared Drug Ingredient

FDA lab analysis of Slim-30 Herb Supplement distributed by the company was found to contain undeclared N-Desmethyl Sibutramine and traces of Sibutramine. Sibutramine is an FDA-approved drug used as an appetite suppressant for weight loss. The FDA has not approved this product, therefore the safety and effectiveness of the product is unknown. This product poses a threat to consumers because Sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias or stroke.

Whooping Cough Kills 5 in California -- State Declares an Epidemic

After the deaths of five infants, California health authorities have declared an epidemic of whooping cough, also known as pertussis. The announcement came after authorities noticed a sharp spike in reports of pertussis, which often is mistaken for a cold or the flu and is highly contagious. A CDC study suggests that the resurgence of whooping cough is due to the vaccine causing an increased and more virulent toxin.

Addison’s disease (also chronic adrenal insufficiency , hypocortisolism , and hypocorticism ) is a rare endocrine disorder wherein the adrenal glands produce insufficient steroid hormones (glucocorticoids and often mineralocorticoids). It is generally diagnosed via blood tests and medical imaging. Treatment involves replacing the absent hormones (oral hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone). Regular follow-up treatment and monitoring for other health problems is necessary.
